Immediate Relief and Long-Term Recovery

The Bounden Duty of the Man is to serve Man

International Buddhist Cultural Social Foundation

Our Foundation and Mission

The International Buddhist Cultural Social Foundation (IBCSF) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to embodying the principle that “The Bounden Duty of the Man is to serve Man”. Operating from the Sri Mahabodi Maha Viharaya in Kandy , we mobilize local and international support to assist communities facing hardship and tragedy.

This country has recently experienced a disaster worse than the Tsunami and the Corona pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of people had to directly face this tragedy. We have been actively on the ground, helping others maintain their livelihoods as much as we can.

Our values

Think Big. Act Bigger.

Past Projects

A Legacy of Service

Post-Disaster Housing: 36 Homes for Families

We built and delivered 36 safe, permanent homes for families displaced by recent disasters. This initiative created stability and empowerment, laying the foundation for long-term community recovery.

Empowering Fishermen: Essential Boat Motor Donation

We successfully donated essential boat motors and equipment to fishing communities devastated by coastal disasters. This immediately restored livelihoods, revitalizing local economies, and ensured financial independence.

‘Sisu Sarana’: Education and Scholarship Program

This program funds scholarships and provides essential learning supplies to deserving students from low-income families. We remove financial barriers, ensuring youth can pursue their academic ambitions and build a brighter future.

Decades of Service: Holistic Disaster Response

The IBCSF has provided critical aid during all major national crises, including war, Tsunami, COVID-19, and the 2025 floods. We ensure vulnerable populations receive food, supplies, and guidance when most needed.

Your Compassion Changes Everything

As the “Ditwa” cyclone continues to impact hundreds of thousands of lives in Sri Lanka, the International Buddhist Cultural Social Foundation (IBCSF) is organizing both immediate and long-term solutions for the victims. Your contribution helps families restore their livelihoods and rebuild homes lost to a disaster worse than the Tsunami and the Corona pandemic. Embrace the bounden duty of serving man.
