Director of Coordination

Venerable Makkanigama Buddhadaththa Thero serves as the Director of Coordination of the International Buddhist Cultural Social Foundation and is a distinguished Buddhist monk actively engaged in religious, educational, and social service activities both locally and internationally.

He is a graduate in Bachelor of Buddhist studies, Philosophy, Pali Language and Sociology from the University of Peradeniya and has completed a Master’s degree in Buddhist studies in English medium from the University of Kelaniya, reflecting a strong academic foundation combined with effective communication skills.

Venerable Thero holds the position of Assistant Chief Monk of the Bahirawakanda Sri Maha Bodhi Maha Viharaya and Cleveland Buddhist Temple in Ohio, USA and serves as a Dharmacharya at Dharmaraja Vidyalaya, Kandy, contributing significantly to Buddhist education and youth development.

He also serves as the Executive Director of the Buddha Pradeepa NGO.
